2nd Grade The Book That Eats People
We Love reading this book each year in 2nd grade; The Book That Eats People by John Perry will most likely be checked out or on hold for the rest of the year. It’s one of our school favorites! Each class got to take photos with our library prop; check out their videos below.
Bluebonnet Books
We explored our Bluebonnet books using the app Aurasma. 4th and 5th grade students created videos telling about each Bluebonnet books; then we attached the videos to the book covers using the App. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been scanning the books in the library to learn more about them. You can also view the videos on the Bluebonnet thinglink. Read 5 Bluebonnet books and make 5 Bluebonnet appointments with Mrs. Jensen to discuss the book. Students who complete the 5 appointments and read 5 books get to vote in January and participate in our Bluebonnet celebration in the spring with fun activities themed on the winning book.
When a Monster Is Born
What Pet Should I Get?
We’ve enjoyed this new Dr. Seuss book this week, and students have been surprised by the ending. This is a great book for inferring or creating your own ending to the story…a great book for generating writing ideas. After we read the book, students got to make their decision on which pet the boy chose on a Google form (thanks to Amy Kincaid for this great idea!).
